Painted with heat resistant fire paint (600 degree)

NB: Even when our fire pits are coated with heat resistant paint, the paint will burn off. The bigger the fire, the faster the paint will burn off. However, this will not affect their long term durability.

We recommend that you light a small fire to help the paint cure for the first couple of uses.

The paint is heat resistant up to 600 degrees Celsius. It is important to bear in mind that fires have the potential to burn at temperatures higher than this.

Although your fire pit or patio fire is coated with heat-resistant paint, the PAINT WILL BURN OFF – This may happen after one use only. The bigger the fire, the faster the paint will burn off. A fire pit or patio fire can be re-painted with high temperature resistant paint available from any local DIY store. Cast iron and steel corrode quickly in wet conditions and WILL RUST. Rusting is a natural phenomenon that cannot be prevented. It is not a product defect by DMC therefore we cannot offer any guarantees against rusting. Corrosion may occur after one use only. A rusty fire bowl is still fit for purpose and can continue to be used.

To reduce the likelihood of rusting, wipe the whole surface of the product with vegetable oil after each use. Use a rag or brush to that effect. Bring inside or protect with a weatherproof cover. If the cover traps dampness underneath it, the fire pit may still go rusty. Ideally, bring inside for the winter. NEVER put a cover on a fire pit while still warm: it will melt. To maintain the finish, clean the surface with a soft cloth. Do not use a wire brush. Slight wear and tear scratches may appear with normal use.
